Dear Marie - a highly professional and respected colleague and friend. We used to meet for a canal-side lunch a few times a year, exchanging news about friends, family and colleagues. Last Autumn, when she had become too frail for this she entertained me for lunch at her flat, where we exchanged reminiscences (mainly hers) for about four hours, Marie insisting we finish the wine. A long, full and fascinating life, very well lived. Rest in peace Marie.

Marie was a very good friend of my mother Barbara, and I always enjoyed meeting up with her - an amazing lady, so full of zest for life and so much enthusiasm. I am glad to have known her.
